- 220gr all purpose flour
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of pepper
- 1 egg
- 4 whites
- 350gr white sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 115gr butter
- 250ml semi skimmed milk
- 1 vanilla bean
- 1 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 180C.
Butter and flour a bundt cake form with 24cm diameter.
In a bowl, beat eggs for 2 minutes.
Add sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat.
In a saucepan add milk and butter.
Split the pod lengthwise with a knife and scrape the inner part to take the seeds.
Add the seeds and the pod in the saucepan with the milk and butter.
Heat the mixture until the milk comes to a boil. Discard the pod.
Add flour, salt, pepper and hot milk in the egg-sugar mixture in two additions. Beat until incorporated.
At the end, add baking powder.
Mix and pour the batter in the prepared form.
Bake for 40-50 minutes.
Test with a knife, if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
