Puff pastry stuffed with brie and caramelised apple

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored and cut in cubes
  • 4 Tbsp brown sugar
  • seeds from 1 cardamon pod
  • 1 brie cheese or camembert
  • 1 round puff pastry dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • crackers for serving


Melt butter in a pan and saute the apple for 5 minutes.
Add cardamon seeds and sugar. Stir in medium heat to dissolve sugar and caramelise the apple.

Cut the cheese in half horizontally and spread half the caramelised apple over it.
Set the other half of the cheese over the apple and spread the rest of the apple on top.

Place the cheese in the center of the round phyllo dough.
Fold the dough up over the sides of the cheese and press it together to seal.
Brush with the egg.
Bake for approximately 40 minutes.

Transfer the cheese in a platter and serve immediately with crackers!
